The 5-acre ground mounted, bifacial system captures energy which will then be sourced into the ComEd electrical grid, providing power to the plant at 80 percent of its electric needs. This 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) saves Manteno residents about $20,000 annually for the next 25 years as electricity costs to run the treatment plant will be largely eliminated.
