In 2015, Sol Systems began work on an expansive, 37-site portfolio with the Department of General Services in Washington D.C., one of the largest, and most complex onsite municipal solar builds in the United States. The projects, comprising rooftop and carport systems sited at schools, hospitals, and public works buildings throughout the District, will save taxpayers approximately $25 million over the portfolio’s lifespan, as well as help the Nation's Capital pull one step closer to its goal of 50% renewable energy usage by 2032.
